How do I know when I should start testing my ovulation?
We recommend to start testing 17 days before your next expected period or on cycle day 10 since the first day of your last period. For more details, please refer to the Cycle Chart in the insert.
I've used MomMed ovulation tests for several months and haven't gotten pregnant. Can I actually get pregnant?
It can take normal, healthy women many months to conceive. There are many reasons why you may not get pregnant, even if you've made love at your most fertile time. So keep trying and stay positive. Bear in mind that the stick does not define your worth! If after several months of trying you've had no success, it’s advisable to go to see your doctor to find out more about your next steps.
I’ve done all the tests as instructed, but I haven’t detected my LH surge. What should I do?
If you started testing on the correct day of your cycle according to the instructions and have not yet detected your LH surge, in most cases we would recommend that you buy another pack and keep testing.
Occasionally some women have an LH surge that is too low for the test to detect or they did not ovulate during a cycle. This is not unusual and may happen in approximately 8% of cycles. If you have not detected your LH surge for 3 consecutive cycles, we recommend you discuss this with your doctor.
Once I see a positive result (peak), what should I do?
The peak indicates that you will ovulate in 24-48 hours, time to baby dance because it will be the most fertile time.
Since the ovulation tests can predict the most fertile time, can it also be used for contraception?
We do not recommend using ovulation tests for contraception. The ovulation test can only detect a LH surge 24-36 hours before ovulation. You can still get pregnant if you have intercourse before the surge is detected, because sperm can live for up to 5 days inside the uterus.
What might cause inaccurate test results?
The test results will be inaccurate under the following cases:
1) you are pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding,
2) during the period/just 1-3 days after period.
3) Affected by Hormones (like birth control pills); fertility drugs containing HCG or LH (Exclude pain relievers and antibiotics). With contraceptive pills it may take a while for your cycle length to stabilize and for your fertility to return, so you may need to wait longer before using MomMed Ovulation tests for this same reason
What should I notice before taking the test?
Before taking a test,  limit your fluid intake. If you drink too much your urine will be diluted and can affect the test negatively. Make sure not to urinate for about four hours before taking the test.
When is the best time of the day to take ovulation test and get accurate result ?
Best results are between 10am and 8pm.You should test at the same time everyday. However, when your tests are darker and near your peak, you need to test twice a day to make sure that you will not miss your peak. Don't take the test during your first pee of the morning.
